I'm Kate Tucker, host of Hope Is My Middle Name, and we're striking out across the country in search of hope, bringing you voices of everyday Americans finding innovative, often unconventional ways to build community, build resilience, build hope.
Kevin Berthia:I knew that I was 25 minutes from my destiny.
Theresa Hamlin:But I saw hope. I saw opportunities.
Doug Naselroad:Opportunity is in the midst of every crisis.
John Christian Phifer:If you look close enough, you can see that there's some light in there.
Kate Tucker:These people remind us that we too can make a difference in our own unique way.
Jennifer Arnold:We're never going to catch up with the need, unless we look at it differently.
Kevin Briggs:I'm not gonna try to fix anything, but I can certainly sit there and listen to them.
Maria Rush:Now I realize that I had to go through some things in order to give that hope to someone else.
Kate Tucker:And these folks, you've probably never heard of them because they're too busy cleaning up trash in the bayou, building a town for the homeless, bringing people out of incarceration and addiction, turning mine lands into farmlands, saving the planet to save our lives.
